Administrative Blog Stuff

First things first, I threw this blog together in a hurry.  There are a number of things I hope to fix down the road.  For a stock template, this template is okay.  I want to fix some things on it, though. To cite one example.

Blogger is a great service.  I have been using their services since 2004.  In my experience, a blog on their service using the default settings leaves some things to be desired.  You have to "play" with it to get it to do all the things you want.  However, if you take advantage of all the things they offer, and do some minor "tweaking" of things, you can have a very "user friendly" blog.

With that said, I am going to need your help to find all the things that need to be fixed.

For instance, the default setting in Blogger is to turn off comments, completely.  I hadn't remembered that.  Jean, Echo's trainer, pointed that out to me earlier today. ... It's fixed now.

While I reserve the right to moderate comments that show up on the blog, I will see every comment posted to the blog.

Also, I'm not sure how the blog is showing up on tablets and smartphones, if someone could check that for me, that would be great!  I think I have the settings right.

Finally, I hate commercials.  I, specifically, have DVR on my cable box so I can record the things I want to watch, and fast forward through the commercials.  But, I have to give credit where credit is due.

I first heard of the "All American Dogs Foundation" in July.  I am a member of the American Legion.  In July, I was an attendee of the "Department of Washington, American Legion" annual convention.  That's where I, first, saw Liberty, and Freedom, two other dogs that the "AADF" are training to be service dogs.  The presentation was GREAT!

While I was attending another state-level Legion event, as an officer of a local American Legion Post, I heard of the AADF's inability to find a "puppy-raiser" home for Echo.  I took the information home to discuss with my wife.  Long story short, if I had not been the Chaplain and Second Vice Commander for American Legion Post 100, in Washington, Echo, probably, would never have been an AADF dog-in-training. You can find out more about my Post, and Sergeant Justin D. Norton, our post's namesake, here.

Here endeth the commercial.

There might be one more in the near future.
